Your Photographic Lighting With Our BackdropsGary Kessler used a medium grey Studio Cloth hung about 3 feet in front of a white sweep. He directed aqua and blue colored gel lights at the sweep. The texture that you see is the silhouette of the uneven texture of the cloth. Studio Cloth resembles the artistic texture of the finest Japanese papers; perhaps one reason that it is so popular in Japan. Because the color of the light is transmitted through the translucent cloth, you do not see the actual grey color of the cloth. Even on the floor, the cloth has taken on some of the color of the wood floor. caution: it is NOT recommended to run or jump on Studio Cloth, Chameleon or any fabric.
